February highlights

Our recent Drum Making Class at the Thunderchild Wellness Centre was a meaningful and inspiring experience for everyone involved. The class was filled to capacity with 10 participants, each given the opportunity to create and take home their own hand drum. Throughout the session, participants learned about the cultural significance and teachings behind the drum, making the experience much deeper than simply crafting an instrument. The room was filled with stories, learning, and connection as each person put their time and care into their drum. By the end of the class, participants left not only with something they made themselves, but with a stronger connection to culture, tradition, and community.

The Thunderchild Minor Hockey Association U9 team recently celebrated an exciting milestone with their first win of the season in their very first year competing in the STEP League. The team has shown incredible growth, determination, and teamwork as they continue to learn and develop together on the ice. Coaches, families, and community members couldn’t be more proud of how far the players have come in such a short time. This win is a great moment for the team and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and positive spirit these young athletes bring to the game every day.
