Drop-in session descriptions

Drop-in indoor walkers

During winter months and inclement weather the Thunderchild Wellness Centre invites you to come for a walk inside the arena concourse and up and down the stairs. Stop by the front office to check in and then get your steps in!

Adult drop-in shinny

Players (16+ years) of all skill levels are welcome to this session. A friendly non-contact game of hockey. Players are divided evenly into teams for a shinny style game. The game is played without referees and the score is not recorded. Players must have a full set of equipment to play.

Public skating

Practice your skating skills while socializing with your friends and family. Guests of all ages and skill levels are welcome to this session. You can bring your own skates and a CSA approved helmet. Skates are available to rent for a fee. Helmets are provided free of cost (subject to availability).

Children aged 7 and under must be supervised (on the ice, wearing skates) by a guardian 18+ years of age. Maximum of 5 children to 1 guardian.

Parent and tot skating

Bring your little ones (under 7 years) for family play time on the ice. You can bring your own skates and a CSA approved helmet. Skates are available to rent for a fee. Helmets are provided free of cost (subject to availability subject to availability and operating hours of the skate shop). Strollers are not permitted on the ice surface.

Drop-in volleyball

Enjoy a fun game of volleyball! Guests of all ages and skill levels are welcome to this session. Play nets will be set up and volleyballs will be provided free of charge. Come ready to play with indoor shoes.

Children aged 7 and under must be supervised (in the fieldhouse) by a guardian 18+ years of age. Maximum of 5 children to 1 guardian.

Drop-in basketball

Enjoy an exhilarating game of basketball! Guests of all ages and skill levels are welcome to this session. Play nets will be set up and basketballs will be provided free of charge. Come ready to play with indoor shoes.

Drop-in indoor soccer

Guests of all ages are welcome to this session. Nets and balls are provided free of charge. Come ready to play with indoor shoes.

Drop-in badminton

Guests of all ages are welcome to this session. Racquets, birdies, and nets are provided free of charge. Come ready to play with indoor shoes.

Guests are welcome to join the event hall for an evening movie screening suitable for all ages. Bring your own blanket and pillow for a comfortable movie experience. Popcorn and drinks are provided free of charge. Children aged 7 and under must be supervised by a guardian 18+ years of age. Maximum of 5 children to 1 guardian.
